Number 10,
the Medieval City of Rhodes. The old town of Rhodes is one of Europe’s oldest
inhabited towns. The town is extremely well preserved and forms a labyrinth of
small streets where you can find amazing shops and small restaurants. There are
over 200 small streets in the old town that are waiting for you to explore
them.
If you ever
get lost in the small streets go and ask for Sokratous Street. This is the main
street leading in and out of old town. In this part of Rhodes you can find a
cultural mix between Greek, Italian and Ottoman influences.
There are
11 gates that you can use to enter the town. The best one to enter is the
liberty gate. Do not forget to take a lot of pictures as this town is also part
of the UNESCO world heritage sites.
The old
town should definitely be on your to do list if you ever visit Rhodes.
